MBABANE– Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Senator Thulisile Dladla departed to Equatorial Guinea to represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the entire Eswatini nation at that country’s Independence Day celebrations.
Equatorial Guinea commemorates its independence annually on October 12, marking the country’s liberation from Spanish colonial rule in 1968. Independence Day is one of the nation’s most significant public holidays, providing citizens with an opportunity to reflect on their history, honour their journey to sovereignty, and celebrate their national identity.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office (DPMO), Dladla’s participation underscores the strong diplomatic ties and mutual respect between Eswatini and Equatorial Guinea. It also reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and solidarity within Africa.
During the celebrations, dignitaries from various countries are expected to participate in official ceremonies, cultural events, and discussions aimed at strengthening political and economic relations. Eswatini’s presence at this high-profile occasion affirms its commitment to maintaining strategic partnerships and promoting inter-African unity.
Eswatini and Equatorial Guinea have historically maintained mutually beneficial relations, with collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange. The Deputy Prime Minister’s attendance is expected to strengthen these ties and explore further opportunities for cooperation.
