MALKERNS – Deputy Prime Minister Thuli Dladla has called on the youth from across the globe to bring their vibrant energy and creativity to the iconic MTN Bushfire Festival.
Speaking on May 30, 2025, during the “Bring Your Fire” Podcast on the festival’s opening day, Dladla encouraged young people to share their diverse cultures and ideas, enriching the festival experience for everyone. Her response came after podcast host Lindokuhle Dhlamini asked how she understood the festival’s theme, “Bring Your Fire.”
The theme has become a rallying cry for festival-goers, urging them to contribute their passion and spirit to make the festival a resounding success. Alongside Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who also joined the conversation, Dladla highlighted how important it is for the youth to bring their energy and foster social harmony and cultural exchange.
Expressing her love for music, Dladla said she enjoys all genres and appreciates the simple yet captivating charm of Malandela’s lawn, the festival venue. She praised festival founder Jiggs Thorne for his dedication and encouraged him to continue nurturing this wonderful event.
The Prime Minister shared that he too loves music and has a variety of favourite artists, both local and international. Arriving at around 3 PM, the two leaders were welcomed warmly by Thorne, MTN Eswatini CEO Wandile Mtshali, and UN Eswatini Resident Coordinator George Wachira. MTN Eswatini, a key sponsor of the festival, and the UN, a valuable partner, continue to support this vibrant celebration of culture and community.
