LOMAHASHA – The Deputy Prime Minister, Senator Thulisile Dladla, pledged medical support and provided walking aids to three residents from Lomahasha and Shewula, including walking crutches and a walking frame, bringing renewed hope and mobility to those in need.
This was during the Deputy Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla visit to Lomahasha constituency to officially hand over four houses on August 28,2025.
In Shewula, Fodo Sifundza, who inherited the house of her late brother Mphini Sifundza, received personal attention from the Deputy Prime Minister due to her health challenges. Senator Dladla provided her with a walking frame and pledged ongoing medical support to ensure she receives the care she needs.
During her visit, she also met Nkhosingiphile Simanga Masilela, a young man from Mbasheni who lost the ability to walk due to a condition that developed during his school years. Once active and playful like other children, Nkhosingiphile now drags his feet because messages from his brain fail to reach them, likely due to nerve damage.
His brother explained that, as a family, their financial constraints had previously kept them from taking him to a specialized doctor. Senator Dladla provided him with walking crutches and personally promised to take him to a hospital for further treatment, giving him hope for improved mobility and a better quality of life.
She also assisted an elderly grandmother with a swollen foot, providing her with walking crutches to ensure safety and mobility. This was during the handing over of Cecelia Mahlalela’s house, which is to be inherited by her granddaughter, Jenet Langa.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit highlights her commitment not only to development but also to the health and well-being of vulnerable members of the community. Residents expressed deep gratitude for the support, calling It “a beacon of hope in challenging times.”
