MBABANE- The Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Thulisile Dladla on Monday, February 2, 2026, received a donation of clothing from the Eswatini Red Cross Society, aimed at supporting vulnerable families across the country.
The donation, which includes clothing for both adults and children as well as shoes, will be distributed through the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme. According to the Red Cross, beneficiary families will be identified by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office during its ongoing family documentation process.
The donation was presented on behalf of the Eswatini Red Cross Society by Director Danger Nhlabatsi, representing the organisation’s leadership. The items were generously contributed by various individuals in support of national efforts to uplift disadvantaged communities.
In her remarks, Dladla expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Eswatini Red Cross Society for its compassion and continued commitment to assisting underprivileged citizens.
She stressed the importance of caring for children and the elderly, calling on the nation to prioritise their wellbeing and protection.
“Through this programme, we have witnessed cases where children and elderly people are abandoned without care. We are working tirelessly to reunify these families so that children can regain a sense of belonging,” said Dladla.
“As we continue documenting families under the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme, we will also ensure that the donated clothes reach those who need them most.”
The Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme, launched in July 2025 by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, is a reality television and radio initiative aimed at reuniting fragmented families and promoting social healing.
The programme airs on Eswatini TV every Wednesday at 20:30, as well as on platforms of the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services, and features real-life stories focused on restoring family unity and responsibility.
The latest donation also builds on the ongoing partnership between the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and the Eswatini Red Cross Society. In August 2025, the Red Cross, working with Philani Maswati and ADRA, launched the Siphila Nabo National Clothing Collection Campaign, which continues to support vulnerable communities across all four regions of Eswatini.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to poverty reduction, disaster response, and social protection, ensuring that vulnerable Emaswati receive dignity, care, and essential support.
