MANZINI– Four hundred elderly emaSwati will face this winter with renewed warmth, comfort and hope after Michael Lee Enterprises donated 400 blankets worth E100 000 to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation, reaffirming the power of corporate giving to transform lives.
The donation, officially handed over on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, forms part of the company’s Wrapped in Dignity Campaign, a flagship corporate social responsibility initiative dedicated to improving the wellbeing of senior citizens across Eswatini. The handover also sets the tone for the much-anticipated 2026 Embiveni Biggest Braai, scheduled for July 25 at the Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre.
For many of the elderly beneficiaries, the blankets represent far more than protection against freezing temperatures. They symbolise compassion, respect and recognition for a generation that has contributed immensely to building families and communities throughout the country.
Receiving the donation, Philani Maswati Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini expressed heartfelt appreciation to Michael Lee Enterprises, describing the contribution as a timely intervention that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of elderly people during one of the coldest periods of the year.
“This donation will go a long way in helping keep our elderly beneficiaries warm during this winter season. We are grateful to Michael Lee Enterprises for this generous gesture and for recognising the needs of senior citizens,” said Dlamini.
The initiative reflects a growing commitment by the private sector to complement community development efforts through practical interventions that directly improve people’s lives. By investing in the wellbeing of vulnerable groups, businesses continue to demonstrate that success is measured not only by financial performance but also by the positive impact they create within society.
Michael Lee Enterprises said the Wrapped in Dignity Campaign seeks to ensure that elderly people receive the care, dignity and support they deserve, particularly during winter when many face increased health risks due to extremely cold weather. The company also reaffirmed its continued support for Her Majesty the Indlovukazi and initiatives aimed at uplifting senior citizens across the Kingdom.
The donation also adds a strong humanitarian dimension to the Embiveni Biggest Braai, highlighting that major entertainment events can also become platforms for community empowerment, charitable giving and social responsibility.
The partnership between Michael Lee Enterprises and Philani Maswati Charity Organisation demonstrates how collaboration between businesses and community organisations can deliver meaningful assistance where it is needed most.
For the 400 elderly recipients, the blankets will provide immediate relief from the winter cold while reminding them that they remain valued members of society whose wellbeing matters.
Dlamini said partnerships of this nature play an important role in ensuring that vulnerable senior citizens continue receiving support throughout the year and encouraged more organisations to invest in programmes that uplift elderly people.
As Eswatini continues to embrace a culture of giving back, the donation stands as a powerful reminder that acts of kindness—no matter how simple—can restore dignity, strengthen communities and inspire others to make a lasting difference.
Through the Wrapped in Dignity Campaign, Michael Lee Enterprises has also challenged more businesses, organisations and individuals to join hands in supporting vulnerable members of society, proving that collective action remains one of the most effective ways to build a more caring and compassionate Eswatini.
