MANZINI — Hope, opportunity and economic progress came closer to the people of KaKhoza as the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, officially opened the E4 million KaKhoza Complex — a community-centred investment set to create more than 50 jobs while improving access to essential services.

Opened on April 30, 2026, the development stands as a clear example of how collaboration between community leadership, private investors and government can unlock meaningful local growth and restore dignity through access and employment.

The new complex, developed under Aylikhona Trust by LINAC-linked investors and anchored by Perennial Investments, introduces Rite Value Grocer and Rite Value Liquor, a butchery and shisanyama, pharmacy, electronics store and beauty salon — all now within easy reach of residents.

Addressing the community,  Khumalo said the opening symbolised far more than infrastructure.

“Today is not just about opening a building. It is about opening opportunity. It is about unlocking potential. And most importantly, it is about bringing dignity and services closer to the people.”

He praised the Masundwini Royal Residence Council and the Skhosana family for entrusting the land to the Motsa family through Aylikhona Trust, describing the gesture as one rooted in unity, trust and shared vision for community progress.

Khumalo added that the project reflects the development path championed by His Majesty Mswati III, where growth must reach every corner of the Kingdom and empower ordinary emaSwati through participation in the economy.

A standout feature of the project was the strong involvement of local contractors across construction, electrical works, plumbing, steel fabrication, refrigeration and finishing — showcasing the depth of local talent and capacity.

Also speaking during the event, Mbongeni Bhembe, Executive Manager Risk and Data Analytics at Eswatini Bank, addressed the gathering on behalf of the Managing Director revealed that the bank financed E2.3 million towards the development.

“Khoza Complex is not just a structure, it is a catalyst for economic activity, a platform for small businesses, and a hub for service delivery,” he said.

Bhembe noted that the bank’s support for the project forms part of its wider investment drive aimed at stimulating local economies, supporting enterprise and advancing financial inclusion across the country.

Beyond the 50 direct jobs created, the complex is expected to stimulate supplier networks, support farmers, empower small businesses and keep economic activity circulating within KaKhoza.

Residents will now access groceries, healthcare, meat products, electronics and beauty services without travelling long distances — saving time, money and strengthening the local economy.

The KaKhoza Complex stands as a beacon of inclusive investment, practical empowerment and what is possible when development is rooted in community, driven by partnership and focused on improving lives.
