LOBAMBA- In classrooms across Eswatini, children sit at wooden desks, dreaming of careers that will shape their futures.
This year, those dreams are backed by the largest allocation in the national budget.

Government has set aside E6.4 billion for education, representing 16.7% of total national expenditure.

The Finance Minister stated that the decisions made today in classrooms will determine the kind of nation Eswatini becomes in 2040.

The allocation includes E5.06 billion for operational costs, E408.7 million for infrastructure development, E702.3 million for scholarships and E194.5 million for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Competency Based Education is being rolled out nationwide to shift learning toward practical skills and deeper understanding. AS/A Level qualifications will now be offered locally, giving students access to internationally recognised certification without leaving the country.

Additionally, 243 teachers have been converted from temporary to permanent employment, strengthening stability in classrooms.

For parents, it means stronger learning environments. For learners, it means expanded opportunity. For the nation, it means investing boldly in the future.
