MBABANE – The Eswatini Housing Board (EHB) has distanced itself from an authorised ‘Braai Master’ promotional item circulated on social media and has warned the public against making payments for same.
In a press statement issued by Corporate Services on May 27, 2026, the Housing Board states that it has noted with serious concern the circulation of the promotional poster advertising an event titled ‘Braai Master’, associated with Mobeni Matsapha Estates as the alleged venue.
“The organisation wishes to categorically state that it is not sponsoring, endorsing, facilitating, hosting nor associated with this event in any capacity whatsoever. EHB further wishes to make it unequivocally clear that: No event of this nature has been approved to take place at Mobeni premises,” reads the statement.
It is also mentioned that the promotional material and its contents were created and circulated without the knowledge, consent, or authorisation of the Eswatini Housing Board.
“Any representation suggesting affiliation between this event and EHB properties or operations is false, misleading, and unauthorised.”
Members of the public were strongly urged to exercise caution and to refrain from engaging in any financial transactions, payments, bookings, or other arrangements with individuals or entities claiming to organise events at EHB residential estates or facilities without official confirmation.
The public is specifically cautioned against:
- Making payments to unverified event organizers;
- Sharing personal or financial information with unofficial representatives;
- Assuming legitimacy based solely on social media advertisements or widely circulated promotional material.
“The Eswatini Housing Board maintains strict governance and approval protocols regarding the use of its residential estates, community spaces, and associated branding. Any authorised activities conducted within EHB properties are communicated exclusively through the organisation’s official communication platforms,” the communique states.
According to the statement, this matter is being treated with the seriousness it warrants, and appropriate action is being pursued regarding the unauthorised use of the Mobeni name and false association with EHB.
The Eswatini Housing Board appreciates the vigilance of residents and members of the public and thanked them for their continued cooperation in safeguarding the integrity of its communities.
