MBABANE– The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) has opened applications for export-ready food and beverage businesses in Eswatini to participate in the Taipei International Food Show, also known as Food Taipei 2026, which will take place in Taiwan from June 24 to 27, 2026.

The opportunity offers local producers a valuable platform to showcase their products on the international stage while exploring potential export markets. Applications for Eswatini-based businesses are open until March 23, 2026.

According to EIPA Manager for External Trade Promotion Thandeka Dlamini, the exhibition provides a strategic opportunity for emaSwati entrepreneurs to expand their reach and strengthen their presence in global markets.

She encouraged businesses to take advantage of the opportunity, highlighting the significant exposure that participants will gain through the event.

“Food Taipei presents an exceptional platform for emaSwati food and beverage producers to showcase their products internationally. Participating businesses will be able to present their value proposition, benchmark their products against global brands and gain first-hand insights into key export markets,” she said.

Dlamini added that such exposure is important for local businesses seeking to expand beyond the country’s borders and strengthen their competitiveness.

She further noted that the exhibition provides direct interaction with buyers and distributors from the Asian market, allowing participants to explore potential partnerships and secure new business opportunities.

“Exposure to buyers and the Asian market is a valuable opportunity for local businesses. These interactions help producers strengthen their export capabilities and open doors to new markets across Asia and other regions depending on buyer interest,” she explained.

Food Taipei is regarded as one of Taiwan’s largest and most influential food and beverage trade exhibitions. The event attracts international exhibitors and buyers, creating a dynamic environment where businesses can promote their products, build networks and learn about emerging global food trends.

The exhibition covers 16 key sectors within the food and beverage industry. These include beverages, dairy products, confectionery, seafood, prepared foods, meat and poultry, frozen foods, future foods, vegetables, fruits, grain products, canned foods, seasonings, health supplements, snacks and food preparation ingredients.

Through collaboration with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, EIPA is able to facilitate participation for Eswatini-based businesses in this internationally recognised trade show.

Dlamini expressed appreciation for the continued partnership between the two organisations, noting that the collaboration plays an important role in creating global market opportunities for local enterprises.

She also highlighted that the Eswatini–Taiwan Economic Cooperation Agreement offers favourable trading conditions between the two countries. This agreement particularly benefits businesses in the agro-processing sector by making it easier for them to access international markets.

Local traders interested in participating in the exhibition are required to complete an online application form provided by EIPA before the closing date.

Officials believe that participation in the trade show will help strengthen Eswatini’s export sector while promoting the country’s food and beverage products to a wider global audience.
