NTFONJENI — At least 105 households in the Ntfonjeni Constituency are set to benefit from water infrastructure donated by Lomati Gold Mine after residents appealed for assistance in connecting water to their homes.
The mine has donated water pipes valued at E45 000 following a request made by the Ntfonjeni Constituency. The request came after residents approached Enkhundleni seeking assistance to have water channelled and connected to their homes.
The donated pipes are expected to facilitate the extension of water connections to the 105 identified households, improving access to water for residents.
Ntfonjeni Indvuna yeNkhundla Mandla Magagula expressed appreciation to Lomati Gold Mine for responding to the constituency’s plea and supporting the community.
“We are grateful to Lomati Gold Mine for responding to our request. These pipes will benefit 105 homes and will assist us in our efforts to ensure that residents have water connected to their homes,” said Magagula.
Magagula said the donation demonstrated the value of cooperation between communities, traditional and constituency leadership and businesses operating in surrounding areas.
The donation is part of Lomati Gold Mine’s initiative to give back to communities surrounding its operations, with the company responding to identified community needs through its social responsibility efforts.
The delivery marks a step towards addressing the water needs raised by residents, with the donated material now available to support the planned household connections.
