MANZINI – Fashion will share the spotlight with music and entertainment when the Embiveni Biggest Braai returns for its 10th Agape Edition this weekend, with organisers expanding the event’s programme to include a dedicated runway showcase featuring local models.

The fashion show, set for 25 July at the Mavuso Trade Centre, signals the event’s continued evolution from a braai gathering into a multi-faceted entertainment experience. While the Biggest Braai has become known for attracting music lovers and families, this year’s addition places greater emphasis on Eswatini’s growing fashion and modelling industry.

Models from the Eswatini Creativity Platform Modelling Agency Studios are expected to headline the runway, showcasing locally inspired designs as part of a programme aimed at celebrating the country’s creative talent. The inclusion of fashion reflects a growing trend among entertainment events in Eswatini, where organisers are increasingly creating space for different forms of artistic expression beyond live music.

The runway presentation also provides another platform for aspiring models to perform before large audiences at a time when the local modelling industry continues to seek greater visibility. Similar collaborations between entertainment events and fashion houses have become more common, helping expose emerging talent while broadening the appeal of festivals.

The fashion showcase forms part of the annual Embiveni Biggest Braai, an event organised in partnership with Philani Maswati Charity, which has built a reputation for combining entertainment with community-focused initiatives. Over the years, the event has expanded its programme to accommodate different creative disciplines while maintaining its identity as one of the country’s notable lifestyle gatherings.

As the countdown to Saturday’s event continues, the introduction of a fashion show is expected to offer audiences more than just a day of food and entertainment. Instead, it reflects the growing intersection between fashion, music and culture in Eswatini’s entertainment industry, giving local creatives another opportunity to showcase their work on a major stage.
