MANZINI Eswatini Bank is helping small and medium enterprises (SMMEs) grow sustainably by promoting environmentally responsible business practices that increase profitability and resilience.

Speaking at the Bank’s first Business Forum of 2026 at the George Hotel on 3 March 2026, Managing Director Dr Nozizwe Mulela explained how the Bank supports entrepreneurs with green financing, flexible loans, and digital banking solutions to strengthen competitiveness in Eswatini’s evolving economy.

“Careful financial planning and smart investments are key to building strong businesses,” Dr Mulela said. “Our green financing options help businesses adopt eco-friendly practices, such as using solar energy, reducing waste, and improving efficiency. This not only saves money but also protects the environment and helps businesses stay competitive in a changing market.”

Dr Mulela highlighted the Bank’s future offerings for SMMEs, including tailored loan solutions for small and micro enterprises, forward-thinking green financing for eco-conscious practices, and enhanced digital banking platforms that make it easier for business owners to manage finances efficiently. “Our ambition is clear: we want Eswatini’s entrepreneurs not only to survive but to scale, compete, and lead in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven economy,” she said.

The Bank encourages SMMEs to invest in their own growth. “Small businesses with structured savings and investment strategies are far more likely to survive economic downturns and sustain long-term growth,” Dr Mulela added. Eswatini Bank offers a range of investment products to help businesses build capital, seize growth opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic development.

The Forum also showcased women-led and youth-led businesses, demonstrating how inclusive and sustainable business models benefit both the economy and society. This support combines financial assistance with advisory services to ensure businesses thrive.

Dr Mulela introduced the Bank’s new SMME Manager, Ms Phumzile Dlamini, who will oversee the SMME portfolio and ensure practical, relevant, and impactful support for small businesses. She also formally introduced Mr Druce De Jesus Sargo, Head of Business Banking, who provides strategic leadership to the Bank’s business and commercial banking portfolio. “Our goal is clear: to give entrepreneurs the resources and guidance they need to grow, scale, and lead in Eswatini’s economy,” Dr Mulela said.

Through these initiatives, Eswatini Bank is equipping businesses to grow sustainably, build resilience, and contribute to inclusive economic development, providing entrepreneurs with the tools to succeed today and in the future.
