MANZINI– There is something special about voices coming together in harmony different tones, one sound, and a shared passion that turns music into a collective experience. That spirit will travel with two Eswatini choirs to Rustenburg later this month.
When the voices of choirs from across Southern Africa meet in one hall, Eswatini will be part of the sound, with Dolce Harmony Chorus and Mbabane Methodist Church Choir listed among the large choirs for the 2026 Buang Moloto Choral Showcase scheduled for October 31 at Rustenburg Civic Centre, bringing together ensembles from South Africa, Eswatini and Botswana for a day centred on choral music, discipline, heritage and artistic expression.
The two Eswatini ensembles will share the large choir category with groups including African Sweet Melodies, Free State Choristers, Kopano Chorus, Thabong Chorus, The Great CUT Choir, WSU BBC and Voices of the Nation.
Their participation places Eswatini’s choral tradition within a regional gathering where choirs meet not only to perform, but to share the discipline and collective artistry that define choral singing. The programme also features a standard choir category, with ensembles including Bojanala Choristers, Botaki Bokone Vocal Symphony, Harmonious Chorus, Lethabile Choral, Pure Voices and UNISA Choir.
The showcase carries the theme “Serala Ke Sa Gago – Let Your Light Shine.” It is presented by the Buang Moloto Foundation. For Dolce Harmony Chorus and Mbabane Methodist Church Choir, the Rustenburg stage will be an opportunity to let their voices become part of a wider Southern African choral gathering.
As the choirs prepare to take the stage, the focus will be on more than the notes they sing. It will be on the discipline behind every harmony, the voices working as one and the cultural stories carried through song with Dolce Harmony Chorus and Mbabane Methodist Church Choir adding Eswatini’s voice to the regional gathering.
