MBABANE- Eswatini’s men’s netball team stamped their authority in Botswana, emerging champions of the two-day Test Series after a dominant display against their hosts.
The opening clash saw Eswatini overpower Botswana with a convincing 52–32 win, before sealing the series with another strong performance in the second game, ending 57–38 in Eswatini’s favour.
Though the women’s side fought hard, they fell short in both encounters, losing 46–33 in the first game and narrowly 43–39 in the second.
Individual brilliance also shone through the tournament. Mandisa Shlongonyane was named Player of the Match in the opening fixture, walking away with E1000. Fortune Neves proved a defensive rock, scooping the Best Defender accolade with E1000, while Sphiwo Dlamini dominated the shooting circle to claim Best Shooter E1000 and was crowned the overall MVP, pocketing E1500.
Reflecting on the hard-fought battles, players acknowledged the physical intensity of men’s netball, crediting teamwork and communication as the key to their triumph. “Botswana’s defence gave us the heat, but it pushed us to dig deeper until the final whistle,” said social media manager, Dlamini, who described his recognition as both a shock and a motivation to improve further.
The men’s victory in Botswana is more than just a series win it is a statement of Eswatini’s rising strength in men’s netball, built on grit, unity, and an unshakable will to win.
