MBABANE – Eswatini has extended a heartfelt welcome to a high-profile delegation from the State of Kuwait.

The distinguished group, made up of former ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors, and influential business leaders, touched down in the Kingdom today for a three-day visit aimed at strengthening bonds of friendship, trade, and cultural exchange.

The visit was graciously coordinated by Mrs. Polinah Dlamini, spouse of Eswatini’s Ambassador to Kuwait and President of the International Women’s Group in Kuwait. The delegation was officially led by His Excellency Nkululeko Dlamini, Eswatini’s Ambassador to Kuwait.

At the formal welcome ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Senator Pholile Shakantu, shared an inspiring overview of Eswatini’s rich heritage and cultural vibrancy. She highlighted the nation’s dynamic events calendar and expressed optimism about deeper collaborations across multiple sectors.

The delegation also paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who warmly encouraged them to explore Eswatini’s diverse opportunities in business and tourism.

“We are eager to showcase the beauty and potential of Eswatini to our Kuwaiti partners. Together, we can explore various sectors that hold promise for mutual benefit,” said the Prime Minister.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Hasan Abdulkarim Al-Hasawi, Chairman and CEO of Alhasawi Group, expressed profound gratitude:

“We are honored to be here and truly appreciate the warm reception. Our visit seeks to fortify the ties between our nations and explore various collaborative opportunities.”

Eswatini and Kuwait first established diplomatic relations in 2008, and the ties have steadily strengthened over the years. In November 2024, Minister Shakantu visited Kuwait for talks with her counterpart, His Excellency Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, further laying the groundwork for this fruitful engagement.

This visit signals a bright chapter for Eswatini–Kuwait relations, with business, tourism, and cultural exchange at the forefront of shared growth.
