EZULWINI – The Ezulwini community gathered for a powerful mid-year prayer session held on July 20, 2025 at the Ezulwini Umphakatsi under the theme “The Nation Must Put Their Trust in God at All Times.”
The event, which is one of three annual sessions hosted by the community at the beginning, middle, and end of the year focused on praying for peace, unity, and success for the nation.
Present at the event was Umngani weMakhosi Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo, who encouraged community members to put their full trust in God to ensure a peaceful Eswatini. He emphasized the importance of love and unity among neighbours, quoting the book of Mark.
“The first important commandment is to love God with all your heart, and the second is to love your neighbour as yourself,” said Khumalo. “This means taking care of those around you. No neighbour should suffer while you are there.”
Also in attendance was the Council of Churches, which donated reading glasses to elderly residents. The glasses are expected to assist elders when using mobile phones, doing handcraft work, and performing other daily tasks.
Community members expressed their gratitude to the Umphakatsi for nourishing them both spiritually and physically, as food parcels were also distributed.
Meanwhile, a similar prayer session was held at Ngculwini Umphakatsi under Mafutseni Inkhundla in the Manzini Region. Held under the theme “Cinani eNkhosini nasemandleni ayo lamakhulu,” the gathering was graced by Chief Umntfwanenkhosi Mgebiseni.
The Chief encouraged communities to seek God, noting that true peace can only be found through Him. “I wish every community would take such actions,” he said. “Blessings come from God, and for communities to be blessed, they must seek Him first.”
Both events highlighted the role of faith and unity in fostering community development and national peace.
