BUHLENI – Rising Eswatini Hip-hop artist Paint Omkhulu, born Phiwayinkhosi Matsebula, is set to release his powerful new single “From Buhleni” on June 30, 2025 — a track that blends musical flair with personal storytelling, proudly rooted in his hometown.

More than just a song, “From Buhleni” is a tribute to the often-overlooked talent that emerges from small towns. “Yes, it’s a small town, but it has so much talent that needs to be shared — not just with Eswatini, but with the world,” Paint Omkhulu shared.

The track delivers a unique fusion of Hip-hop and drill, powered by a bold and catchy beat produced by Simise ‘Parma’ Kunene. The result is a confident, accessible single that Paint Omkhulu says is easy to vibe with. “You don’t have to listen multiple times to know the lyrics,” he explained. The song’s simplicity and infectious rhythm were partly inspired by fellow Swati rapper Diba Diba and his hit “Nibhemelani.”

Paint Omkhulu uses “From Buhleni” to reflect on his personal journey — from growing up in a small town to navigating life in the city. He speaks candidly about the misconceptions and stereotypes he encountered, and how he continues to embrace his roots with pride. “My dedication to succeed and showcase my talent despite the odds should serve as a testament to my character and artistry,” he said.

The single is an anthem for anyone who’s ever been underestimated based on where they come from. It’s about authenticity, determination, and holding your head high — no matter where you’re from.

Active in the local music scene since 2015, Paint Omkhulu has worked with a number of respected artists, including Kidnissy, King G, and Parma. He’s also expanding his reach with new international collaborations currently in the works with artists based in Milwaukee, USA.

As the release date approaches, Paint Omkhulu invites fans and new listeners to join him in celebrating a town that shaped him. Updates and pre-release content can be found on his official Facebook page: Paintomkhulu Matsebula.

With “From Buhleni,” Paint Omkhulu isn’t just making music — he’s making a statement for small towns across Africa that are bursting with untold talent and stories waiting to be heard.
