MALKERNS– The recently concluded MTN Bushfire Festival was not only a celebration of music, arts and culture, but also a showcase of how strategic partnerships can contribute to public safety.

Through its sponsorship of the Park n Ride initiative, Galp Eswatini helped provide festival-goers with affordable, reliable and safe transport to and from the festival grounds, reducing the risks associated with drinking and driving.

The initiative enabled revellers from different parts of the country to travel conveniently to House on Fire and return home safely after enjoying the three-day festival.

Galp B2B Sales and Marketing Manager Mongiwe Mkhabela described the activation as a resounding success, noting that the Park n Ride service was well utilised throughout the weekend.

“Festival-goers were transported from various pick-up points across the country through the Park n Ride service, providing a safe and convenient travel experience to and from the festival,” she said.

Beyond transportation, Galp created an engaging presence at the festival through safety-themed games, customer competitions and family-friendly activities that attracted hundreds of visitors.

Mkhabela said the overwhelmingly positive response from attendees demonstrated the importance of initiatives that combine entertainment with safety awareness.

Galp Managing Director Bruno Marques added that the company was particularly encouraged by the strong uptake of the Park n Ride service and the positive experiences shared by families who attended the festival.

“All went well and we are happy about the use of Park n Ride. Families who attended were happy and many were attending Bushfire for the first time,” he said.

The initiative reflects Galp’s commitment to road safety, a principle that remains central to the company’s operations and community engagement efforts.
