MBABANE- Donate pads, win wine, and empower girls this Women’s Month with purpose.
As part of August’s Women’s Month celebrations, community builder and youth champion Ncamiso Mahlalela, fondly known as “The Pads Guy”, has launched an exciting and heartfelt initiative titled “Give & Win” under the Helping Hand Foundation. The campaign is designed to collect sanitary pads, clothes, and toiletries to support young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, while also celebrating women and their contributions to society.
The official campaign poster, now making rounds on social media and displayed at partner venues, outlines how members of the public can contribute by simply donating essential items via drop-off bins located at several popular spots. These include:

Every donation not only supports a girl in need, but also enters the donor into a weekly draw to win a bottle of ZIVA wine, a new red blend introduced by Mahlalela’s close friend Mandisa, a wine and pizza entrepreneur based in Siphofaneni.
“As August is Women’s Month, and since women love wine, I thought, why not use Mandisa’s new wine as a way of introducing it to the people? People must donate pads to stand a chance of winning the wine,” Mahlalela explained. “That’s why they call me the Pads Guy, because I take care of young girls. It is a way of getting pads from the community to help these girls.”
He emphasized that the campaign is as much about celebrating generosity as it is about raising awareness:
“Every time you give, you are winning. And every win deserves to be celebrated. ZIVA wines is being offered as a token of appreciation so you can celebrate your impact in the lives of the less fortunate.”
The campaign has been met with an overwhelming show of community spirit and support. “The partners have been a great support and helped me so much. They also preach the word of donating in the bins,” Mahlalela said. “Some communities like Lobamba and Mvutjini are even asking for the bins, they say they can’t be left out in such a beautiful thing.”
Whether it’s through donating pads or spreading the word, Mahlalela believes everyone has a role to play. “This campaign is about love, dignity, and the power of community,” he added.
