MANZINI– The government is committed on strengthening partnership with the private sector.

This has been disclosed by Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima at Mavuso Pavilion 1 during the launch of Sibebe Premium Lager as an official sponsor of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on May 15, 2026.

“It is my great honor and privilege to join you today at the official launch of Sibebe Premium Lager as a FIFA World Cup sponsor. This is indeed a proud and historic moment not only for Eswatini Beverages and the Sibebe brand, but for the Kingdom of Eswatini as a whole,” as a whole.

He said the occasion demonstrated that local brands from the region are capable of competing and being recognised on the global stage. To see a proudly Southern African brand associated with one of the world’s biggest sporting platforms, the FIFA World Cup, was a significant achievement that deserved to be celebrated by the entire nation.

“As Government, we remain committed to strengthening partnerships with the private sector because we recognise the important role business plays in driving economic growth, creating opportunities, promoting innovation, and enhancing our country’s international visibility. This milestone by Sibebe is a clear example of what can be achieved when ambition, vision, and investment are aligned,” he said.

Nzima said Sport has the unique power to unite people, inspire younger generations, and position nations positively before the world. The FIFA World Cup, he said, is more than just a football tournament; it is a global celebration of excellence, diversity, and human connection.

“Therefore, having Eswatini represented through this sponsorship places our country firmly within conversations taking place on an international platform,” he said.

The minister added that this achievement should also serve as an inspiration to the youth and local entrepreneurs. It sends a powerful message that no dream is too big, and that brands from Eswatini can stand proudly among internationally recognised names through hard work, consistency, and belief in their potential.

He said he would also like to commend the leadership and staff of Eswatini Beverages for their vision, dedication, and continuous contribution to national development. He said their success was a source of national pride, and encouraged more local companies to pursue opportunities that elevate the country’s profile beyond our borders.

He once again congratulated Sibebe and Eswatini Beverages on this remarkable achievement. This partnership, he said, opens even greater opportunities for growth, visibility, and success.

He said this should be the beginning of even greater accomplishments, not only for the company, but for Eswatini as a nation.
