MBABANE- The Government of Eswatini, through the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, has assured the nation that swift and coordinated measures are underway to resolve temporary delays affecting Disability Grant payments for the month of June.
In an official statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office on 9 June 2026, the Office confirmed that a number of beneficiaries have not yet received their Disability Grant payments due to technical challenges affecting the systems used for processing payments.
The Office clarified that the disruption is purely technical and not linked to any withdrawal or policy change. It is being addressed with urgency in collaboration with relevant technical teams and service providers to restore full system functionality.
Authorities further assured beneficiaries that restoration efforts are at an advanced stage, and systems are being stabilised to ensure the prompt processing and disbursement of all outstanding June payments. The Office emphasized that no eligible beneficiary will be excluded, as Government remains firmly committed to the integrity and continuity of social protection services.
While acknowledging the inconvenience caused, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office extended its sincere apologies to affected beneficiaries and their families. The Office also expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding demonstrated by the public during this temporary disruption.
Disability Grants remain a critical pillar of social protection in Eswatini, supporting vulnerable citizens and contributing significantly to dignity, inclusion, and improved quality of life for persons living with disabilities. Government reiterated that strengthening efficiency, reliability, and transparency in the delivery of such services remains a national priority.
Technical teams are currently working around the clock to clear the backlog and ensure that all outstanding payments for June are processed in a timely, orderly, and transparent manner. Beneficiaries will be informed through official communication channels once normal operations are fully restored.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office has also urged members of the public to remain calm and to rely only on verified government communication, cautioning against the spread of misinformation during this period.
The Office reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the delivery of social assistance programmes across the country.
