MAYIWANE – Mayiwane Member of Parliament, Sicelo Khunga Nkhosi Dlamini, has commended the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini for its prompt intervention following the storm that damaged several schools in the area.
According to information sourced from the MP on April 7, 2026, Dlamini said the government’s response was clear evidence that the tinkhundla system continues to deliver tangible results and provide support where it is most needed.
The storm, which struck the area in December last year, caused significant damage to school infrastructure, leaving many learners and community members affected.
“We witnessed our schools being affected by the storm, but government rose to the occasion. Today, our children and valued community members can sleep peacefully,” he said.
The legislator noted that the ongoing distribution of building materials, including roofing sheets, demonstrates government’s commitment to restoring normalcy and ensuring that emaSwati are cared for.
He, however, appealed for patience among those who are yet to receive assistance, assuring them that their concerns are being addressed.
“We cannot do everything at once, but we are working tirelessly. We urge the public to remain patient as we continue to serve the nation,” he said.
Dlamini further emphasised the importance of accountability within public service, stating that any shortcomings should be attributed to individuals failing in their duties rather than the system itself.
“If there are failures within the system, we must hold accountable those entrusted to implement it. Those employed must serve with dedication in their respective offices,” he added.
He reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring that all affected structures are repaired as soon as possible.
