MBABANE — With the Ingwenyama Cup final set for May 10, 2026, Green Mamba supporters are drawing confidence from experience as one key factor that can help them win the trophy. However, Hotspurs head into the final equally determined, with supporters confident in their unity and tactical discipline.
As anticipation builds ahead of the highly anticipated showdown, fans say the presence of serial winners within the Green Mamba squad gives the team a strong chance of lifting the coveted trophy once again.
A number of Mamba players are no strangers to Ingwenyama Cup glory, having previously won the competition with top clubs such as Mbabane Swallows during their dominant run between 2016 and 2018.
Among them is prolific forward Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, who lifted the cup three consecutive times with Mbabane Swallows before adding two more titles with Green Mamba in 2020 and 2024. He also scored the winning goal in the 2024 final.
Midfield general Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu is another key figure, widely regarded as one of the competition’s most decorated players, with four titles to his name, playing a central role in both Swallows’ dominance and Mamba’s recent success.
Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze has also built an impressive record, winning three Ingwenyama Cup titles with Mbabane Swallows before securing another with Green Mamba in 2024, while Mxolisi Mkhontfo has contributed to Mamba’s victorious campaigns in 2020 and 2024.
Green Mamba’s recent triumphs — including a 2-0 victory over Mbabane Highlanders in 2020 and a narrow 1-0 win against Mbabane Swallows in 2024 — have further cemented the team’s reputation as a formidable knockout force.
However, Nsingizini Hotspurs have also shown strong determination after reaching their first-ever Ingwenyama Cup final following a dramatic 5–4 penalty shootout victory over Young Buffaloes on April 19, 2026, after a 1–1 draw. The result highlighted their resilience and growing confidence on the big stage.

Hotspurs head into the final equally determined, with supporters confident in their unity and tactical discipline. While not as decorated in recent Ingwenyama Cup history, the team has shown consistency and maturity to reach this stage.
Supporters such as Musa Dlamini and Siphiwe Mkhabela believe Green Mamba’s blend of experience and continuity within the squad could prove decisive.
“As fans, we believe these players know what it takes to win this cup. They have done it before under pressure,” said Dlamini.
Mkhabela echoed the sentiment, adding that the team’s core of experienced campaigners gives them a psychological advantage.
“When you have players who have lifted the trophy multiple times, it increases your chances. They understand the moment and don’t panic,” he said.
Other supporters pointed to the team’s consistency, having reached the final again in 2026 after winning it in 2024.
The current squad still boasts several players who featured prominently in those triumphs, including captain Ndzinisa, Ndlovu, goalkeeper Xolani Gama, defenders Peter Dlamini and Banele Dlamini, as well as Sibongakonkhe Silenge, Njabulo Tfwala, Lindani Matsenjwa, Banele Sikhondze and Siyabonga Zwane.
Fans argue that such continuity, combined with a proven winning mentality, places Green Mamba in a strong position to challenge for honours once more, though they acknowledge Nsingizini Hotspurs will provide a serious test.
With expectations rising and belief growing among supporters on both sides, all eyes will be on whether Green Mamba’s experience will once again carry them to Ingwenyama Cup glory or if Nsingizini Hotspurs can crown their historic run with a first-ever title.
