MOTSHANE – The Motshane Inkhundla Sports and Recreation Committee has officially launched the 2026 Motshane Inkhundla Talent Search Tournament, reaffirming its commitment to discovering and developing football talent within the constituency.
The launch, held at the Motshane Inkhundla Centre yesterday, brought together football stakeholders, community leaders, sports administrators, coaches and players, all united behind the vision of creating opportunities for aspiring footballers.
Organisers said the tournament has been established to identify, develop and promote talented players from the area while providing a competitive platform where young athletes can showcase their abilities to coaches, scouts and football administrators.
The committee said the initiative forms part of the Inkhundla’s broader drive to empower youth through sport, strengthen community participation and contribute to the long-term development of football in Eswatini.

Officials expressed confidence that the competition would continue to produce talented players capable of progressing to higher levels of the game, while also encouraging discipline, teamwork and healthy lifestyles among young people.
Speaking during the launch, the committee highlighted the importance of partnerships with football stakeholders and community leaders, saying their support would be crucial to the tournament’s continued growth and success.
The launch attracted representatives from various sectors of the football fraternity, reflecting growing interest in grassroots football development within the constituency.
The Motshane Inkhundla Sports and Recreation Committee also thanked all stakeholders for their continued support as preparations get underway for the 2026 season.
The tournament is expected to provide a platform for emerging players to demonstrate their potential while strengthening the football development pathway in the Motshane Inkhundla.
