EZULWINI– For years, travellers arriving in the Kingdom of Eswatini have spoken of the country’s warm hospitality and welcoming people. Now, that reputation has received official international recognition, with Happy Valley Hotel becoming the first hotel in the Kingdom to be awarded a 4-star grading by the Eswatini National Establishment Grading Board.
The landmark achievement marks a defining moment not only for Happy Valley Hotel but also for Eswatini’s tourism industry, signalling the country’s growing ability to compete with leading hospitality destinations across the region and beyond.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Eswatini Positive News, Happy Valley Hotel Sales and Marketing Manager Notsikelelo Dlamini said the recognition reflects years of dedication, investment and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
“We are very much excited to be the first hotel that has been graded 4-star in the Kingdom of Eswatini. This means a great deal to us. It affirms our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and exceptional facilities,” Dlamini said.
She explained that the grading gives confidence to travellers seeking internationally recognised accommodation standards and assures guests that Happy Valley Hotel delivers a world-class hospitality experience.
“This means that we are able to meet the standards of international guest expectations. Our international guests, and even regional guests looking for a 4-star establishment, can easily find Happy Valley Hotel and choose to stay with us,” she said.
Dlamini said the historic recognition also comes with a responsibility to continuously improve and uphold the standards that earned the hotel its prestigious rating.
“It is a very big milestone for the hotel, and we promise the people of Eswatini and our international market that we will continue to maintain this standard through continuous facility upgrades and the exceptional service we provide every day,” she said.
She added that the achievement is closely aligned with the hotel’s vision of becoming the country’s leading first-world hospitality destination.
“All of this makes us happy as a hotel because it aligns with our vision of being the leading first-world facility delivering exceptional service through the hospitality personnel that we have,” she said.
Beyond celebrating the milestone, Dlamini extended an invitation to emaSwati, regional visitors and international travellers to experience the hotel’s award-winning hospitality.
“We have the best facilities, four restaurants, comfortable accommodation and everything guests need for an enjoyable stay. We invite everyone to come and experience Happy Valley Hotel,” she said.
The official 4-star grading is expected to enhance Eswatini’s appeal as a destination for leisure travel, conferences, business tourism and investment. It also demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to building a tourism sector that meets internationally recognised quality standards while delivering the warmth and authentic hospitality for which emaSwati are renowned.
For Happy Valley Hotel, the recognition is more than a prestigious rating. It is a symbol of what can be achieved through vision, consistency and a relentless pursuit of excellence. For Eswatini, it is another proud milestone in the country’s journey towards becoming one of Africa’s most competitive and welcoming tourism destinations.
