MAPHUNGWANE– A healthier and more welcoming environment awaits patients visiting Ebenezer Clinic in Maphungwane after Imphumelelo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society invested E32 000 towards improving the facility.

The cooperative donated chairs and paint to the clinic, reaffirming its commitment to supporting community development and complementing government efforts in improving healthcare services.

Speaking during the handover ceremony on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Imphumelelo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Chairperson Winile Vilane said the initiative was driven by the organisation’s desire to contribute towards the upliftment of the community.

Vilane revealed that the painting of the clinic cost more than E17 000, while the chairs donated were valued at over E15 000.

She said the donation formed part of the cooperative’s commitment to supporting government in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those aimed at improving the quality of life for communities.

“We want to continue assisting this clinic to ensure that it develops and remains at a standard where patients can receive services in a decent environment,” said Vilane.

She added that the cooperative would continue looking for ways to support Ebenezer Clinic and other community initiatives that bring meaningful change to people’s lives.

Vilane further highlighted that Imphumelelo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society was also focused on improving the welfare of its members by ensuring they benefit more from the organisation, especially after retirement.

The donation is expected to enhance the experience of both healthcare workers and patients by creating a cleaner, more comfortable and dignified space for service delivery.

Through partnerships between community organisations and local institutions, initiatives such as this continue to demonstrate the power of collective action in driving sustainable development across Eswatini.
