MBABANE – Award-winning Afro-pop artist Sancheziey has given fans another taste of his highly anticipated album, uMntfwana weLive, by unveiling “Utawuva Ngengoma”, a collaboration with acclaimed traditional vocalist Lodanda.

The song, which serves as the opening track on the upcoming album, is the latest preview ahead of the project’s official release on August 5, 2026.

Speaking about the new release, Sancheziey said the song is a reflection of the love and support he has received from emaSwati, particularly following the success of his hit song Siyabonga Gogo.

“I have received and felt the love of emaSwati because of a song, Siyabonga Gogo. EmaSwati have gone far deep as far as appreciating their culture and supporting the music that I make. With that, Utawuva Ngengoma comes as an assurance that whenever they see anything about me, whether digitally or otherwise, it will be about music and only the music they love me for,” he said.

He added that music has the power to unite people.

“A song unites people. People gathered in a song are gathered in peace and that is what is setting us apart. Our eyes are just glued to what emaSwati love about me, which is singing,” he said.

Sancheziey also explained why he chose Lodanda to feature on the track, describing her as the perfect artist to complete the album.

“Lodanda is the mother of this kind of music. This became the last song to be recorded on the album and after getting it I was like, ‘that’s enough,’ because I always knew something was missing from the album — something deep, slow and pure with no strings, flutes or keys,” he said.

He said working with Lodanda was an easy decision because of her musical depth and willingness to support fellow artists.

“With Lodanda being a phone call away in anything Salukazana, her support is just something else. Her flows and musical depth make everything nice, chill and pure. That is why I had to go for her. Lastly, some people didn’t get enough of her from the remix,” he added.

Looking ahead to the full project, Sancheziey said fans will not have to wait much longer.

uMntfwana weLive is set to be released on August 5, 2026, and emaSwati should wait with us as we are about to give them not only a taste but a full meal for their ears,” he said.

The album is expected to showcase Sancheziey’s signature Afro-pop sound while celebrating Eswatini’s cultural identity through storytelling and collaborations with local artists.
