INDIA STRENGTHENS TIES WITH ESWATINI THROUGH HIGH-LEVEL COURTESY VISIT

LOZITHA – His Majesty King Mswati III received a high-level courtesy visit from India’s Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Hon. Pabitra Margherita, at Lozitha Palace yesterday, marking a continued strengthening of diplomatic and developmental ties between Eswatini and the Republic of India.

During the cordial engagement, His Majesty welcomed Minister Margherita and his delegation, expressing appreciation for India’s ongoing support in various sectors including healthcare, education, and capacity-building. The visit served as a platform to reaffirm the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Minister Margherita conveyed warm greetings from the President and Prime Minister of India, and reiterated India’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations, particularly in trade, technology transfer, and textiles – a sector of mutual interest.

This visit is a positive signal of growing South-South cooperation and shared development goals. It also builds on previous partnerships, including the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme, which has benefitted many emaSwati professionals through scholarships and training.

Eswatini continues to shine as a nation that welcomes global collaboration aimed at empowering its people and strengthening its economy.
