MBABANE– Football fans across the country can expect thrilling action this weekend as some of Eswatini’s biggest football clubs prepare to clash in the quarter-finals of the Ingwenyama Cup.

The much-anticipated last-eight fixtures were confirmed following a draw conducted on 17 March 2026 by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE). The draw has set up several exciting encounters that are expected to attract significant attention from supporters.

One of the headline fixtures will see capital city giants Mbabane Swallows take on the disciplined and formidable side Young Buffaloes. The clash is expected to be one of the standout matches of the quarter-finals, with both teams known for their competitive spirit and strong support base.

Another exciting encounter will feature Malanti Chiefs from the northern Hhohho region locking horns with Manzini Sea Birds. The two sides will be eager to secure a place in the semi-finals, setting the stage for a highly competitive match.

Meanwhile, Green Mamba will take on the Buccaneers of Moneni, Moneni Pirates, in another fixture that promises entertaining football. Both teams have shown resilience in reaching this stage of the tournament and will be determined to progress further.

However, uncertainty still surrounds one of the quarter-final fixtures due to an ongoing disciplinary case involving Mbabane Highlanders. The club has been accused of initiating violence during their round-of-16 match against Nsingizini Hotspurs, which resulted in the match being abandoned before completion.

The disciplinary matter is currently under review, and the organising committee is expected to determine which of the two teams will proceed to the quarter-finals. The winner of the ruling will face Msumpe Manchester United in the last-eight stage of the competition.

Tournament organisers have indicated that the final confirmation of this fixture will be announced once the disciplinary proceedings have been concluded. The committee is expected to meet soon to finalise the matter and provide clarity on the remaining quarter-final match-up.

The Ingwenyama Cup, which is proudly sponsored by the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF), remains one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the country. The competition continues to attract large crowds and generate excitement among supporters eager to see their teams compete for the coveted title.

With several strong teams still in contention, this year’s quarter-finals promise intense battles, dramatic moments and high-quality football as clubs fight for a place in the semi-finals of the renowned tournament.
