MATSAPHA– A coordinated enforcement drive is steadily restoring order in Matsapha, as the Matsapha Town Council and the Royal Eswatini Police Service intensify their joint inspections under “Operation Hloba Matsapha”.
Authorities this week deployed multi-disciplinary teams across key hotspots, targeting a range of violations that have long undermined public safety and urban order. The operation is already yielding visible results, with officials reporting improved compliance and a renewed sense of accountability among businesses and residents.
Leading the charge, inspection teams are actively addressing illegal dumping, noise disturbances, reckless street behaviour, unauthorised trading, and breaches in food safety and workplace standards. They are also clamping down on illegal construction activities, a growing concern in rapidly expanding areas.
Council officials stressed that the operation is not merely punitive, but corrective. “We aim to restore order, ensure compliance, and build a Matsapha we can all be proud of,” the statement read. The message is clear, enforcement and community responsibility must work hand in hand.
On the ground, officers have engaged directly with offenders, issuing warnings and, where necessary, enforcing penalties in line with national laws. Residents have begun to notice the difference. Cleaner surroundings, reduced noise levels, and safer streets are gradually becoming the norm rather than the exception.
