PIGG’S PEAK – The walls of Malandalahle and Mangwaneni Social Centres are set to receive a fresh coat of paint, with facilities for children and families undergoing much-needed refurbishment.

This follows a donation of E20 000 by KFC Eswatini to the Pigg’s Peak Town Council on 26 February 2026. The funds will assist in upgrading the two community centres, which serve vulnerable children and families in the area.

The donation was officially presented by the Head of Human Resources at KFC Eswatini to the Council’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Dr Glory Msibi, during a ceremony attended by members of the Council Board, the Chief Executive Officer and the management team.

Dr Msibi highlighted the importance of the project, noting that the centres play a crucial role in supporting disadvantaged members of the community.

“This contribution will help ensure that our centres remain safe, dignified and welcoming spaces for everyone who relies on them,” she said.

The refurbishment project will include painting and general maintenance aimed at improving the overall environment. The upgrades are expected to create safer and more appealing spaces where children can learn and play, and where families can access essential social support services.

Council officials emphasised that the improvements will not only benefit the children and families who utilise the facilities, but also staff members and volunteers who are responsible for the daily operations of the centres.

Speaking at the handover, the Head of Human Resources at KFC Eswatini described the initiative as part of the company’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts.

“Supporting community initiatives such as this is at the heart of what we do,” he said. “We are proud to partner with the Town Council to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”

The Town Council expressed its appreciation for the donation, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the private sector and local authorities in promoting community development and social welfare.

Once the refurbishment is completed, the Malandalahle and Mangwaneni Social Centres are expected to provide enhanced, welcoming and supportive environments, reinforcing their vital role as safe spaces for children and families in Pigg’s Peak.
