…Investor declares Eswatini his “third home” after Royal Palace dinner

MBABANE – His Majesty King Mswati III’s humility, warmth and commitment to attracting investment have once again earned glowing praise, with an international investor describing Eswatini as his “third home” after spending an evening with the King at the Royal Palace.
Following a dinner with His Majesty on Friday evening, the businessman expressed admiration for the King’s leadership style, saying repeated encounters with the monarch had left him increasingly impressed by his personal humility and determination to see Eswatini prosper.
Having now met the King on several occasions, the investor said what continued to stand out was the contrast between the enormous responsibility carried by the Head of State and the welcoming, approachable manner in which he engaged those seeking to participate in the country’s development.
“Once again, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have dinner and spend time with His Majesty King Mswati III at the Royal Palace yesterday evening,” he said.
He described the King as remarkably humble, warm and deeply passionate about the development and prosperity of Eswatini.
According to the businessman, every interaction with His Majesty had strengthened his appreciation of the King’s vision for investment, infrastructure development and economic growth.
He said the King had continued to encourage his ambitions to participate in infrastructure and renewable energy projects in Eswatini – sectors regarded as important to the country’s long-term economic transformation.
The remarks come at a time when Eswatini continues positioning itself as an investment destination while pursuing major infrastructure, energy and industrial development initiatives aimed at stimulating economic activity, creating employment opportunities and strengthening the country’s productive capacity.
For the investor, the welcoming environment created at the highest level of leadership could play an important role in convincing businesses with capital and expertise to seriously consider Eswatini.
“When leadership creates an environment where serious investors feel welcome and encouraged to participate in national development, opportunities naturally begin to flourish,” he said.
His comments underline the importance of investor confidence as Eswatini seeks to attract both local and international capital into sectors capable of supporting sustainable economic growth.
Renewable energy, in particular, has increasingly emerged as one of the country’s major areas of opportunity as Government seeks greater domestic energy generation and reduced dependence on imported electricity.
Infrastructure development is similarly expected to remain central to national development, with investment in energy, transport, tourism, housing, information technology and other sectors having the potential to create jobs while strengthening Eswatini’s competitiveness.
Beyond business, however, the investor said his repeated visits had created a growing personal attachment to the Kingdom.
After experiencing Eswatini’s hospitality on several occasions, he jokingly declared that the country had effectively become another home away from home.
“After several visits, I can comfortably say Eswatini is now my third home,” he said.
He added that the warmth and hospitality extended to him during his visits had always been exceptional.
The statement represents another positive endorsement of the Kingdom from an investor showing growing interest in participating in Eswatini’s development.
Such endorsements could prove valuable in strengthening the country’s image internationally, particularly when they come from businesspeople who have personally interacted with the country’s leadership and explored investment opportunities on the ground.
