NHLANGANO – Rising star Lesia Musiq from Nhlangano is set to take his career to new heights after officially signing a five-year contract with Mabonwa Abulawe Records.
The deal, which runs until 2030, is being hailed as a game-changing moment for the young artist who has steadily earned recognition for his distinctive voice and heartfelt songwriting.
The announcement was made by the label’s founder, Young Zesh, who expressed strong confidence in Lesia’s potential to become one of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region’s most influential artists.
“The reason we signed Lesia Musiq is that he has a unique voice and he is very talented. His writing skills are excellent. We also love the SiSwati presentation of his work,” Zesh explained, adding that the singer’s authenticity made him the perfect fit for the label.
In response, Lesia Musiq described the signing as both humbling and empowering.
“I feel grateful and blessed for such an honorable opportunity because opportunities like these do not come for everyone,” he said. “I am going to gain more experience in the music industry, and I will be able to do my music consistently because I now have a supportive and experienced team behind me.”
Already working on new material under the label, Lesia promised fans a fresh wave of music that reflects both his growth and cultural identity. His debut single under the new contract is scheduled for release on October 3, 2025, a date his supporters are eagerly anticipating.
Young Zesh assured music lovers that the partnership will bring innovative sounds and elevate Lesia Musiq’s profile across the region.
“We believe he has the talent and drive to become a SADC superstar,” he said.
