MANZINI– Manzini Mayor Xolani Masuku has expressed appreciation for the region’s creative community, while commending the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) for creating a platform that recognises and celebrates local talent through the Manzini NACA Regional Awards.
Speaking during the awards ceremony held at Millennium Park, Masuku recognised the contribution of artists and cultural practitioners to the identity and development of Manzini. He also highlighted the importance of acknowledging creatives whose work continues to bring entertainment, culture and artistic expression to communities.
The Mayor further expressed gratitude to ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini for initiating the regional awards, describing the platform as an important opportunity for creatives to receive recognition for their work. The awards bring together artists from various disciplines, giving them an opportunity to showcase their abilities and gain greater visibility within the creative sector.
Masuku’s remarks came as winners across numerous categories were about to receive their certificates during the ceremony. The awards recognised talent in areas including music, theatre, fashion, visual arts, photography, poetry, comedy, modelling and content creation.
The Mayor also acknowledged the efforts of Manzini’s creative community, whose work continues to contribute to the region’s cultural landscape. He encouraged the recognition and support of local talent, particularly through initiatives that create opportunities for artists to develop and showcase their work.
The Manzini NACA Regional Awards formed part of a wider effort to celebrate creativity across the region, with the ceremony bringing together established names and emerging artists. The event also provided an opportunity for government, local authorities and arts stakeholders to engage with creatives and recognise their contribution to Eswatini’s cultural and entertainment industries.
