MBABANE– Matsapha Town Clerk Sizwe Dlamini has urged motorists and other road users to exercise extreme caution around the Matsapha Lifestyle, Mahhala intersection following a temporary traffic light outage caused by a power failure.
The advisory, issued by Dlamini, comes amid rainy conditions that have left roads wet and slippery, increasing the need for motorists to remain vigilant and adhere to road safety measures.
According to Dlamini, motorists approaching the affected intersection are urged to reduce their speed, exercise extreme caution and allow for the safe passage of other road users while the traffic lights remain non-operational.
The Town Clerk has also reminded motorists to observe road safety rules when approaching the intersection, particularly given the prevailing wet conditions which may make roads slippery and reduce stopping distances.
The outage has temporarily affected the normal regulation of traffic at the intersection, requiring motorists to approach the area with greater care and awareness.
Dlamini said the council regretted any inconvenience caused by the power outage and appealed to all road users to cooperate in ensuring safety around the affected area.
The Town Clerk further thanked motorists and the public for their cooperation and understanding as they navigate the intersection during the outage.
