MBABANE– Mbabane Highlanders AM FC President Shawn ‘Ma’ Mkhize has reassured supporters that she is not leaving the club, while urging fans and players to remain united as the team approaches the final four matches of the season.
Speaking in a message directed to supporters, Mkhize said her focus remains on strengthening unity within the club and ensuring that the Highlanders family moves forward together despite challenges faced during the campaign.
Her remarks come as the Black Bull continue their push to finish the season strongly, with supporters expected to rally behind the team in the remaining fixtures.“I have been receiving messages saying I am going to leave, but let me assure you, I am not going anywhere. I am trying to fix unity in this club and make sure that you stay together and united,” said Mkhize.
The club president praised supporters for their recent turnout during the team’s trip to face Ubombo Sugar FC, describing the support as encouraging and important for the morale of the players.“I was very impressed with how you came out for the Ubombo Sugar match, and I want you to come again to Intabankulu. It is not always about how you start, but how you finish,” she said.
Mkhize also responded to growing calls from supporters who have been requesting the return of the club’s traditional black and white jersey. She revealed that the club is considering introducing the colours as an alternative kit at the start of next season.“I know supporters wanted the black and white jersey, and I am considering bringing it back next season as one of the alternative jerseys because I want all of you to be happy under my leadership,” she added.
Beyond football matters, Mkhize announced plans to establish a national supporters’ committee aimed at improving coordination and strengthening the relationship between the club and its supporters across the country.“I would love to make sure that the national supporters’ committee is appointed. We will communicate the venue, date and time soon, and I will also be visiting certain areas so that we move together,” she stated.
The developments come at a critical stage for Mbabane Highlanders as the club seeks to rebuild momentum and restore confidence among its loyal fan base. Supporters have recently shown renewed energy in backing the team, with growing optimism surrounding the club’s efforts to strengthen unity and stability both on and off the field.
