MANZINI – As rugby continues to gain ground in Eswatini’s youth sports scene, all eyes are on Enjabulweni School in Manzini this coming June 13, 2025, where the Schools Rugby Games National Finals will unfold. More than just a tournament, the event is a celebration of the country’s investment in grassroots rugby development and a showcase of the next generation of potential national athletes.
Under the banner of the Umbhobho WeTikolwa tournament, the finals have become a key fixture on the school sports calendar. They do not only promote competition among top schools but also foster discipline, teamwork, and passion for the sport among students. With growing community interest, the event has become a rallying point for young athletes, coaches, and supporters.
This year’s competition promises exciting action across several divisions. In the Under-19 Boys category, Mliba High School, Mabhensane High School, Waterford Kamhlaba, and Mbabane Central High School will vie for national glory. The Under-17 Boys division is divided into two competitive pools: Pool A features Manyovu High School, Mbabane Central High School, St Florence High School, and Elangeni High School, while Pool B includes Enjabulweni Independent and Sigangeni High School. On the girls’ side, Manyovu High School and Waterford Kamhlaba will showcase the growing talent and enthusiasm in girls’ rugby, a sign of the sport’s expanding inclusivity.
The atmosphere is expected to be electric as fans gather to support their teams. More than trophies and titles, the day represents what rugby means to schools in Eswatini: an opportunity to empower youth, build character, and create pathways for sporting excellence.
