EZULWINI– Health Minister Hon. Mduduzi Matsebula will headline the 76th ECSA Health Ministers’ Conference, to be hosted in the Kingdom of Eswatini from 3 to 5 February 2026 at the Happy Valley Hotel.
This gathering comes at a vital time for the region, focusing on the theme ‘Enhancing Health Systems for Equity, Resilience, and Sustainability. It is not just a meeting for locals, as health ministers from across East, Central, and Southern Africa will join senior policymakers and global health giants to plan a better future for healthcare.
The conference is a joint effort between the East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) and the Government of Eswatini. Big names from the World Health Organization (WHO), Africa CDC, and the World Bank are expected to attend. They will be joined by researchers and private sector leaders, all looking for ways to improve how medical services reach the people who need them most.
Minister Matsebula is expected to use his keynote address to share what Eswatini has learned about fixing health services and making Universal Health Coverage a reality. His goal is to move beyond theory and talk about real-life experiences that can help other countries in the region. By doing so, he will place Eswatini’s own reforms at the center of the regional conversation.
Hosting this 76th session is a clear sign that Eswatini is stepping up as a leader in regional health. The discussions held here will help push forward major goals like the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and Africa’s Agenda 2063. It positions the Kingdom as a key player in deciding which health policies will actually be put into action across the continent.
Over the three days, the delegates will sit down for serious talks and share new strategies to tackle old problems. The hope is that by the time the conference ends, there will be a solid plan to ensure that health systems are not just surviving, but thriving for the next generation. As the country gets ready to welcome these visitors, the focus remains on the Minister’s leadership in making health a top priority for everyone.
