SITEKI Eswatini’s rapidly rising music sensation, As 4 Jerry P, is capturing the nation’s attention following the release of the music video for his spiritually infused single Mlentengamunye.

Premiering on 27 November 2025, the video made an extraordinary debut, surpassing 1 000 YouTube views within its first ten hours — a remarkable feat for an emerging artist in the country’s competitive music landscape.

Far more than a standard music release, Mlentengamunye stands as a powerful cultural statement, weaving together themes of spirituality, heritage, and collective identity. The song delivers a unique blend of African trap layered with subtle reggae undertones, positioning it as the official lead single for As 4 Jerry P’s forthcoming album, LibhunguLemhlolo. Under the guidance of his label, Upscale Live, the young musician continues to establish himself as a formidable creative force in Eswatini’s evolving music industry.

The visually striking music video was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Direktor Kwenu, and it carries immense sentimental value for the artist. Reflecting on the project, As 4 Jerry P said: “Mlentengamunye music video is very special to me; we shot it at home in Siteki, with my whole family as part of the cast. I would love to thank my team at Upscale Live and Direktor Kwenu for bringing my dream to life.”

This deep personal connection is evident throughout the video, which showcases authentic scenes filmed within the artist’s home environment. The familial involvement adds emotional warmth and authenticity, amplifying the song’s message and grounding it in lived experience.

At the heart of Mlentengamunye lies rich cultural symbolism. The track draws inspiration from Swazi spirituality and the historical migration of emaSwati. According to As 4 Jerry P, the title refers to an ancient cloud — Mlentengamunye — believed to have guided Swazi ancestors to their destined homeland. This spiritual imagery aligns with narratives often associated with King Somhlolo’s prophetic vision, adding historical depth and cultural pride to the music.

Mlentengamunye is linked to Swazi culture dating back to when our forefathers were migrating to where we are today,” he explained. “It was the cloud they were following to this promised land.”

Through this lens, the song becomes more than entertainment; it acts as a bridge between generations, honouring ancestral journeys while inspiring contemporary listeners. With its fusion of modern Afro Trap rhythms and echoes of oral tradition, As 4 Jerry P uses his music to explore themes of destiny, faith, and identity. “The song is about a journey where I follow the cloud to my promised land, just as our forefathers did,” he added.

The enthusiastic reception of the music video reflects a growing trend within Eswatini’s music scene, where young artists are confidently merging cultural narratives with modern production styles. As 4 Jerry P exemplifies this movement, using creativity not only to entertain but to preserve and celebrate Swazi heritage.

With Mlentengamunye gaining traction so quickly, anticipation for LibhunguLemhlolo is building. If this release is any indication, the upcoming album is poised to solidify his status as one of Eswatini’s most compelling emerging talents.
