MANZINI – The Mount Zion Experience name is set to take on a new meaning beyond the stage, with the launch of the Mount Zion Experience Foundation introducing a charitable initiative aimed at helping people facing difficult circumstances.
The foundation was launched by Mount Zion Experience founder Siphiwo Ndoni during a media event on Thursday as an extension of the broader vision surrounding the annual gospel experience.
However, while the Mount Zion Experience is an annual worship and gospel event that began in 2022, the newly launched foundation has a different focus providing assistance to people in need.
The foundation is intended to support vulnerable members of communities, including university students and people experiencing financial hardship, through donations and other forms of assistance.
Ndoni said the organisation wants to use partnerships and resources to create meaningful community impact. The foundation’s introduction follows the growth of the Mount Zion Experience, which has developed from its first gathering at Lobamba Christian Revival in 2022 into an annual event.
Ndoni said the growth of the event created an opportunity to establish something that could have an impact beyond the annual gathering. “The purpose grew clearer,” he said, reflecting on the evolution of Mount Zion.
The foundation is expected to rely on responsible partnerships, donations and support from businesses, donors and members of the public. In his address, Ndoni called on potential partners to invest in a vision that can turn available resources into opportunities for communities.
He also emphasised the importance of transparency and sustainability in managing resources entrusted to the foundation. “We are not building for one event; we are building for generations,” Ndoni said.
While the Mount Zion Experience will continue bringing gospel music and worship to audiences through its annual event, the foundation will operate on the charitable side of the vision, focusing on helping people whose needs extend beyond the entertainment and worship space.
The 2026 Mount Zion Experience is scheduled for 30 October at the Metropolitan Evangelical Church auditorium, but the foundation represents a longer-term effort to make the Mount Zion name part of community support and social impact.
