MANZINI – Gospel worship is set to take stage once again when the Mount Zion Experience returns on 30 October, with South African gospel minister Takie Ndou leading the first announced names for this year’s edition.
The annual gospel gathering, which began in 2022 at Lobamba Christian Revival, is returning for its 2026 edition at the Metropolitan Evangelical Church auditorium.
Ndoni said the line-up will bring together established ministers and emerging artists, with more performers still expected to be revealed. “Established ministers will share the stage with gifted emerging artists because Mount Zion is not only where stars minister; it is where new stars rise,” Ndoni said during the media launch.
The inclusion of emerging performers adds an interesting dimension to this year’s experience, particularly as the event continues to grow beyond its origins as a single night of worship. For Takie Ndou, who has been named among the first performers, the appearance places an established gospel voice alongside the event’s broader mission of creating space for newer talent.
The 2026 edition is expected to continue Mount Zion’s combination of worship, music and fellowship, while giving audiences an opportunity to see both familiar gospel voices and artists still making their way into the spotlight. Although organisers have not yet revealed the complete line-up, Ndoni confirmed that additional names will be announced, leaving room for more anticipation as the October date approaches.
The event’s growth is part of a journey that began with a packed Lobamba Christian Revival gathering on 5 August 2022 before moving into subsequent annual editions. This year’s Mount Zion Experience is scheduled for 30 October at the Metropolitan Evangelical Church auditorium in Manzini. The event is also listed for the same date and venue on the ticketing platform.
With Takie Ndou already on the bill and more names still under wraps, Mount Zion 2026 is shaping up to be as much about discovering the next gospel voices as it is about returning favourites.
The full line-up may still not be announced, but one thing is already clear: Mount Zion is keeping the stage open for both established ministers and the stars waiting for their moment.
