BHUNYA – Emerging Eswatini artist Mr Solid, born Khethukuthula Cebo Zwane, is back in the spotlight with his latest single titled “Lengoma.”

The 24-year-old singer, known for his energetic fusion of Amapiano, Gqom, and House music, is not only making waves locally but also starting to gain traction across the border.

Hailing from Bhunya Kazondwako, Mr Solid started his journey in entertainment as a dancer before transitioning into music in 2013. “I’ve always loved entertaining people. I was inspired by DJ Tira; the way he lives and creates music made a strong impact on me,” he shared. Although his path has been filled with challenges, Solid remains determined to succeed.

Like many upcoming artists in Eswatini, Mr Solid has struggled to make a living from his music. “It’s still not paying, but I know where I’m going,” he said. “I’ve had to beg for slots at events just to showcase my talent. I grab every opportunity I get.”

One of his earlier singles, “Thank You Mama,” caught the attention of South African artist Tipcee, who reposted the track. It also received airplay on Ligwalagwala FM and has seen growing streams online, currently sitting at over 600.

His new single “Lengoma” is inspired by real-life scenes in taverns and clubs, particularly the conflicts that often arise, usually centred on women and relationships. “Ubumnandzi goes along with a good song,” Mr Solid explained. The single is a collaboration with South African duo 2Some Musik, signed under Open Mic Records, who also produced, mixed, and mastered the track.

The music video for “Lengoma” has already been shot and is expected to drop at the end of May on YouTube. For now, the song is available for streaming on YouTube, SoundCloud, and Audiomack at this link • https://youtu.be/RkRmqpiodww?si=M7HZUnYv3MUiLz0F.

Mr Solid has performed at various venues in South Africa, including in Mpumalanga and Gauteng, as well as at popular spots in Eswatini such as the George Hotel, Manzini Theatre Club, and the Manzini Exhibition Centre, and in his hometown of Bhunya.

While he dreams of one day working with DJ Tira, he has his eyes set on collaborating with M Nation in the near future. “I believe we could make a hit. That collaboration would show that anything is possible.”

His advice to other young artists? “Believe in your craft. The road to success isn’t easy, but don’t let negativity stop you. Keep going until they stop talking.”
