MBABANE – Ngodini FC head coach Mfanawenkhosi Wanele Dlamini is gearing up for a crucial weekend as his team prepares for two important matches that could define their season. Speaking ahead of the games, Dlamini expressed cautious optimism despite some injury concerns.
“We are still preparing for the two games that we will play over the weekend. We hope to complete our preparations by tomorrow (Friday),” said Dlamini. “Yes, we have a few players that are injured and some are doubtful for the games, but we believe in all the players who are training as we prepare for these two games.”
Reflecting on the team’s recent history, Dlamini acknowledged the challenges Ngodini FC faced during the 2023/24 season. “It’s sad that the team couldn’t register for the 23/24 season, and I would not like to dwell much on what happened. I’m just happy our team bounced back during the 24/25 season and emerged champions at the end of the league.”
The coach praised the resilience and unity of the club, highlighting the role of the MRFA’s decision to create a single promotion league under Malkerns, which allowed Ngodini FC to compete despite starting late. “It wasn’t easy as the league was very competitive, but I’m grateful to God, the management, my assistant coach Mr. Nhlabatsi, the players, and the supporters the Player No. 12 for working jointly to achieve our goal. Everyone had a role to play in this journey.”
Dlamini expressed pride in representing his hometown, saying, “I am happy for raising my hood, Lobamba Lomdzala’s (Mahlanya) flag high and being part of the Ngodini FC history-making team. I hope we can achieve more as a team in the future and use this as a start for great achievements for the club and bring happiness to the people of Ngodini.”
Looking ahead to the playoffs, the coach showed respect for all competitors in Group A but remained confident in his squad. “We respect all the teams in our group for the 24/25 Playoffs. Having said that, we are going to try our best in all the games, and I believe in our team. For now, my focus is on playing the playoffs, and then we will see once that’s out of the way. The management always tries to motivate the boys. In God we trust.”
Dlamini concluded with a heartfelt invitation to fans, “I would like to invite all our supporters to come in their numbers to watch our game against Othandweni Swallows FC on Saturday at 1 PM at TB Center 1. We will need them to support the team.”
With determination and community spirit, Ngodini FC looks confident to make a strong impression in the playoffs under Dlamini’s leadership.
