NGOWENI – Ngoweni Primary School has received a fully functional borehole, which was donated by Sibonelo Cooperative as part of its 2024–2025 community support programme.
The donation comes under the cooperative’s long-running initiative, launched in 2019, aimed at improving lives through giving back to underserved communities.
The Chairperson of the cooperative, Sibonelo Mngomezulu, said the funds used for the borehole were taken from a percentage of the organisation’s profits.“We are committed to supporting the needy, and this is part of our contribution towards Nkwe, as advocated by His Majesty,” he said.
The school’s Head Teacher, Thulisile Dlamini, welcomed the donation, saying it would ease water challenges and boost the school’s agricultural efforts.
“Our learners were facing serious water shortages, especially when working on their farming projects. This borehole will improve their health, and ensure we can produce enough maize to support the school’s feeding programme,” she said.
