NHLANGANO – The graduation gowns were out, but so were the drums, dancing, singing and karate moves making sure nobody forgets to celebrate as Ngwane Teacher Training College turned its 40th graduation ceremony into a celebration full of colour and energy.
The Nhlangano arena carried a different kind of excitement as the college marked the milestone ceremony with performances that kept the occasion moving beyond the usual graduation proceedings.
Lutsango brought cultural flair to the celebrations, while African dancers filled the arena with rhythm and movement. Their performances gave the ceremony a distinctly cultural feel, reminding those gathered that graduation could be both a formal milestone and a celebration of identity.
The college choir added a more reflective moment, filling the arena with song as graduands and guests watched. Their performance helped set the tone for a day that carried both celebration and ceremony.
Then came the drum majorettes, bringing colour, coordination and youthful energy to the arena. Their lively display added another layer to an already packed programme.
The entertainment continued with young Timbongi, who took to the stage to sing praises directed to His Majesty King Mswati III as part of the proceedings.
Amitofo karate brought a completely different energy. Their performance showcased skill and discipline, giving the audience a taste of martial arts alongside the cultural and musical displays. Together, the performances created a colourful backdrop to the achievements being celebrated by the graduands.
For those attending, the ceremony offered more than an opportunity to watch students receive their qualifications. It became a meeting point for education, culture, music, dance and performance.
As graduands celebrated the completion of an important chapter, the performers ensured that the journey to that moment was accompanied by plenty of sound, movement and colour.
The 40th graduation ceremony therefore left the arena carrying two kinds of memories those of academic achievement and those created by the performances that made the celebration come alive.
