MBABANE– Eswatini professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini competed in the 2026 Pearl of Africa Tour in Uganda, where she joined professionals from different African countries in a mixed men’s and women’s field competing for a total prize purse of US$20,000 (about E325,500).
Dlamini completed the three-round tournament at Entebbe Club with a total score of 214, one-over-par, after carding rounds of 73, 69 and 72.
The tournament was won by Uganda’s Ronald Rugumayo, who claimed the lion’s share of the US$20,000 prize purse.
Reflecting on her experience in Uganda, Dlamini said the tournament provided an opportunity not only to compete but also to engage with professionals and golf development stakeholders from across the continent.
“I had the opportunity to play in Uganda this past week at the Pearl of Africa Tour,” Dlamini said.
“It was inspiring to see professionals from different African countries come together in a mixed men’s and women’s event.”
Dlamini said her participation also allowed her to hold discussions on junior golf development, an area she has been actively involved in through her work aimed at introducing and developing young golfers.
“I also had meaningful discussions around junior golf development with countries doing exciting work in this space, particularly Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria,” she said.
The Eswatini golfer said the discussions highlighted the opportunities available to strengthen golf development across Africa through collaboration and the sharing of experiences.
“There is so much potential for African golf, and I’m excited about what we can learn from one another and how we can grow the game across the continent,” Dlamini said.
Her participation in the Pearl of Africa Tour therefore provided both competitive exposure and an opportunity to engage with initiatives focused on growing the sport among young players across Africa.
The Uganda event brought together golfers from different countries, creating a platform for competition between men and women while also facilitating interaction among professionals involved in the development of golf.
Dlamini’s participation adds to her continued involvement in golf both as a professional player and as an advocate for junior golf development.
