MBABANE – Professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini is poised to continue her impressive performance as she tees off in the €300,000 (E6.2 million) sponsored Joburg Ladies Open.
Dlamini is currently in exceptional form, having secured sixth place in her last tournament, the ABSA Ladies Invitational, held last week at the Royal Johannesburg. She previously finished 28th in the Platinum Ladies Open, proudly representing her country on the international stage.
The Joburg Open, one of the most generously sponsored tournaments under the Sunshine Ladies Tour, will take place from April 3 to 6, 2025, over four rounds. Dlamini is among 132 players from around the globe participating in the event.
This marks the second-to-last tournament of the Sunshine Ladies Tour, with the final event being the Investec SA Women’s Open, which will be held at the Erinvale Golf Club from April 10 to 13, 2025. This tournament, also boasting a sponsorship of approximately E7 million, will be part of the Ladies European Tour (LET), where Dlamini is a competitor.
The Lobamba-born player, now residing in South Africa, will tee off this morning at the Modderfontein Golf Course, which consistently ranks among the top 60 golf courses in South Africa.
According to sunshineladiestour.golf, the Modderfontein Golf Course hosts numerous significant amateur tournaments, attracting over 40,000 rounds annually. Nestled in the heart of Gauteng, it is picturesque, tranquil, and regarded as the ultimate golf sanctuary. The Modderfontein outpost, dating back to 1894, is considered a forerunner of modern-day Johannesburg.
