MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has unveiled Nqobile Fiona Simelane as its new Marketing Manager, with the organisation expecting her to strengthen relationships with sponsors and drive revenue-generating opportunities for the country’s top-flight football league.

PLE Chairman Polycarp Dlamini announced Simelane’s appointment during a media briefing held at Sigwaca House on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Dlamini said the marketing department was central to the financial sustainability of the PLE, particularly through the mobilisation and management of sponsorships.

He said Simelane would be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with existing sponsors while also identifying new partners for PLE competitions, including the MulaSport National First Division, the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup and the Charity Cup.

The chairman said Simelane brought experience from several prominent organisations, including Nedbank Eswatini, Coca-Cola Eswatini and Eswatini Meat Wholesalers.

Simelane is a marketing, communications and social impact strategy professional whose experience includes brand strategy, client service, social impact marketing and Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy. Her professional background has also involved managing multi-sector partnerships and brand activation initiatives.

During her time associated with Nedbank Eswatini, she was involved in promoting community-focused initiatives, including the annual Nedbank Cookout Challenge, which supports small businesses and local communities.

Dlamini said Simelane would also be expected to protect and promote the PLE brand while maintaining integrity and transparency in the organisation’s dealings with sponsors.

She takes over the marketing portfolio from Lindokuhle Mthupha.

Accepting the responsibility, Simelane said she understood what was expected of her and committed herself to delivering on the mandate.

“I understand my responsibilities and what is expected of me. I know that I have to deal with sponsors. I commit to work hard and promote the PLE brand,” she said.

Simelane’s unveiling comes as the PLE continues to rely heavily on commercial partnerships to support its competitions and expand the value of its football products.

At the briefing, Dlamini was accompanied by Simelane and Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli, a prominent sports administrator and legal practitioner who serves on the PLE Executive and Development Committees.
