MBABANE– Eswatini National Netball Association (ENNA) President Jabulile Thwala has urged Emaswati to come out in numbers and rally behind the national men’s netball team when it takes on South Africa at Mavuso Sports Centre this Saturday.
The highly anticipated preparatory match is scheduled for 2pm, with entrance set at E50. The encounter forms part of the national team’s preparations for its upcoming international assignment in Kenya.
Thwala said the support of Emaswati would be important in motivating the players as they prepare to represent the country on the international stage.
“We are appealing to Emaswati to come and support us. Please come in numbers and cheer for the national team. Your support means a lot to us as we prepare for Kenya,” Thwala said.
The national men’s team captain also appealed to supporters to fill Mavuso Sports Centre and create a lively atmosphere for the players.
The captain said the players would draw motivation from seeing Emaswati behind them as they test themselves against South African opposition ahead of their trip to Kenya.
The match will provide the national side with an opportunity to measure its readiness against a strong South African team and identify areas that need improvement before the international assignment.
Eswatini’s national netball teams have shown steady progress on the international stage, with the country securing bronze medals in indoor netball in both 2024 and 2025.
With the Kenya assignment approaching, the team is hoping for strong support on Saturday as it continues its preparations.
Thwala reiterated the call for supporters to make their way to Mavuso Sports Centre and stand behind the national team.
“Let us fill Mavuso Sports Centre. We need your numbers and your support. Come and watch the game, cheer for us and show the players that Emaswati are behind them,” she said.
The national men’s netball team is now counting on Emaswati to turn up in numbers and give the players the home support they need ahead of their international challenge.
