MATSAPHA – The 2025 Teachers’ Day celebrations are set to be the biggest and most vibrant yet, thanks to a generous E300 000 donation from Pick n Pay Eswatini (Lojaf) to the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT).
The sponsorship was officially announced on 22 October 2025 at Matsapha Link, where African Alliance Partner Mr Sthofeni Ginindza and Pick n Pay Eswatini CEO Mr Mario Fernandes presented the cheque to the SNAT National Executive Committee.
SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini expressed profound gratitude for the contribution, describing it as a significant gesture of solidarity with Eswatini’s educators.
“We are truly grateful to Pick n Pay for this remarkable act of generosity. This partnership strengthens the bond between the business community and the teaching fraternity, celebrating the vital role teachers play in shaping our nation,” said Dlamini.
The donation will fund the Teachers’ Day Bash 2025, scheduled for Friday, 24 October, at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. The celebration promises a dynamic mix of entertainment, recognition, and unity — a well-deserved treat for the nation’s educators.
A star-studded local lineup will include Phathwakahle Mabuza, Linda Dlamini, M Nation, Zaimarn, Young Zesh, DJ Cup, Culolami Dlamini, Trend Twins, DJ Lolo, Tibza Tubuko Nxumalo, Cybos, Lady Zee, DJ MBO, and Jerry P.
Adding an international flair, South African superstars Sjava, Mafikizolo, and Khadeair will headline the after-party, promising a night of soulful music and unforgettable performances.
The event’s entertainment and logistics will be coordinated by New Life Entertainment, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with SNAT in 2024. The partnership aims to promote collaboration between educators and the creative industry, empowering local artists while celebrating the teaching profession.
“This partnership is about celebrating educators through art, culture, and pride in local talent,” said Thembinkosi Mthethwa of New Life Entertainment.
Tickets are available from Pick n Pay Moja Ticket, Computicket, and Howler, priced at E50 for SNAT members and E200 for non-members. Cooler boxes will be allowed at an additional E100.
Founded in 1928, SNAT remains Eswatini’s oldest and most influential teachers’ union, steadfast in its advocacy for education, professional development, and cultural enrichment.
This year’s Teachers’ Day celebration — boosted by Pick n Pay’s contribution — is not just a musical extravaganza, but a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who continue to educate, inspire, and build the nation.
